Listen first hand to the TCRS story from its founder Mrs. Gaik Wong, who is an active NAWEM member and always ready and available to mentor young entrepreneurs and share her experiences with them.
This 2004 recipient of The Innovative Woman Entrepreneur Of The Year Award, together with her only daughter Kah Lin, had opened the first TCRS restaurant in year 2000.
Gaik Wong was confident that 'Hainanese chicken rice' can be developed into a chain store
with an international concept to cater to all Malaysians. The Chicken Rice Shop operates as a local chain of 'halal' family restaurants with a global growth potential.
Her company TCRS Sdn Bhd has since 2007 diversified into other brands as well. Its Sweet Chat Cafe now has four outlets in the Klang Valley. The cafe specializes in delicious Malaysian desserts and fusion meals.
The Pancake House is the company's other brand with one outlet newly opened this year. Altogether the company provides employment to some 800 people.

This is a full day event organised by Penang Affiliates of NAWEM, in collaboration with government agencies and bank. The main agenda is to provide exposure to women entrepreneurs (men too) of the public and private business funding and grants available in Malaysia.
There is a RM70 fee per pax to cover one buffet lunch + 2 tea breaks.
